Post-arrival UK checklist: first 30 days as an international student
BRP collection, bank account, NHS registration, and NI number — the order that saves weeks.

Week 1: collect BRP within 10 days, register with university, get UK SIM card, open a bank account (Monzo, Starling, or Revolut work without proof of address).
Week 2–3: register with local GP, apply for NI number (needed for part-time work), get Council Tax exemption certificate from university.
